A source has told Ethio Newsflash that the Oromia regional state’s president, Lemma Megersa, is attending a medical treatment in New Delhi, India. The information from our source came after calls were made questioning his whereabouts in the past two weeks.
“He has been in India for the past eight or nine days attending a medical treatment,” the source, who talked to Ethio Newsflash on a condition of anonymity, said. “Not so many people know what his complication is but he has been suffering from a sort of illness even before he became the region’s president.”
Lemma has increasingly become popular across the Oromia region and many rallies held recently across the region have praised him and his leadership. The outspoken figure is known for his sharp remarks and oratorical speeches.
Recently, the regional president has been notably absent from media appearances and from certain meetings that the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, chaired at his office.
