Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale of uttering hate speech. Midiwo accused the two leaders and the Jubilee Party of double standards when the topic of hate speech comes up. The Gem MP said he had a video of Uhuru uttering words that can be described as hate speech.
Speaking during an interview on NTV, on Tuesday, June 20, Midiwo said he was shocked to see Uhuru in the video bragging that he was elected president by the Kikuyu and Kalenjin community. ”I have a video and I can play it here that shows Uhuru bragging that he was elected by the Kalenjin and Kikuyu after they fought, is that not hate speech when a president uses an incident like violence to drum support for himself?” Midiwo said.
The Gem MP also accused Duale of being a hypocrite as he was recently recorded inciting his constituents in Garissa to chase out the Kamba community from the area ahead of August General Election. Midiwo claimed the narrative that National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga had incited the Maasai community to remove outsiders from their land in Kajiado county was created by the Jubilee Party for political mileage.
TUKO.co.ke earlier reported how the Jubilee Party led Uhuru and Duale had called on the relevant agencies to investigate and arrest Raila for the comments he made in Kajiado regarding land.
