Two international firms, Softin a banking technology consulting company and Fiorano Software developers, have joined hands to provide a new banking technology to Ethiopian financial firms.
Adam Nyaga, regional head for Softin in the East African region, says Ethiopia as the largest economy in East Africa having more than 20 banks and is an ideal destination for new banking technology technologies. He made the statement on the sidelines of a half day presentation conference Softin and Fiorano had with six Ethiopian Financial Institutions showing banking IT solutions on June 14 in Sheraton hotel, Addis Ababa.
The discussion among other things focused on integration of banking systems like international payment systems and local payment systems that save money and make the solution simpler.
Kidus Lelisa director of information and technology directorate services at Development bank of Ethiopia (DBE) says he’s found the presentation to have useful technology to offer, helping to run the system in the background and boosts customers internal business units .
“Using better technology makes us efficient, productive and effective, as it takes shorter time to build and maintain” he added.
